SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AS A STRATEGY TO HELP LOCAL BUSINESSES OF UNESCO TOWN TELČ

Telč, a UNESCO town, is one of the most beautiful towns in the Czech Republic, and the facades of the houses surrounding its main square must be some of the most photographed buildings in Vysočina Region (near Jihlava). The historic centre of Telč was added to the UNESCO list of world cultural heritage in 1992, thanks mainly to the chateau and beautifully preserved town square (more about Telč here).


College of Polytechnics Jihlava is situated in the centre of Jihlava,  an ancient town in the heart of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands, about 130 km southeast of Prague. Telč is some 25 km away (more about Jihlava here).

Case study will allow you to understand the concept of municipal social responsibility of the UNESCO town Telč. Working in an international and interdisciplinary teams of students, you will be expected to suggest the changes of the municipal social responsibility strategy, you'll be also thinking about the budget for the proposed activities (events, communication, networking). Part of the program will be interviews with the local business owners to get insights into what the municipality can improve to make help boost their success.

Cost per student: 215 €

The cost includes accommodation for 4 nights, 5 lunches, dinner, local breweries visits and a trip to Telč. You will be staying in a hotel in the centre of the city, within walking distance of the College of Polytechnics in Jihlava (CPJ), there is no need to use local transportation. 

During the IBW you will be required to draw on your knowledge acquired in a number of courses you have studied at your university, such as management, marketing and business economics, as well as your common sense, and use this knowledge in a practical, realistic situation. You will be divided into teams consisting of students from different countries, with different study specialisations.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

Please note that there will be a presentation of your home country, region and university, it should take no more than 5 minutes, we prefer video presentations, but ppt presentations are acceptable as well. Also, there will be a presentation of your national food. Please, bring samples of typical tastes of your home country with you.

After your arrival, Czech students will pick you up at the Jihlava train/bus station and will guide you to your hotel. They will contact you to arrange it.
