Accounting competition for secondary schools
A look back at the 10th edition of the "Accounting versus Accounting" competition for secondary schools
The Polytechnic College Jihlava organized on January 10, 2024 under the auspices of the Rector of the College, Assoc. Ing. Zdeněk Horák, Ph.D., the tenth anniversary year of the competition "Accounting versus Accounting" for high school graduates. The competition was organized in attendance form in the premises of the VŠPJ. 48 contestants from nine secondary vocational schools from Vysočina Region and Central Bohemia Region participated in the competition. Of the 16 teams competing, the first place went to competitors from the Dr. Albín Bráf Academy of Commerce in Trebic, the second place went to competitors from OA, Vocational School of Higher Education and Secondary Vocational School, SOŠS Jihlava, and the third place went to students from GOB and Secondary Vocational School in Telč. The competition was also attended by graduates from the Business Academy in Pelhřimov, the Business Academy in Neveklov, the Vocational School and Secondary School of Business and Services in Žďár nad Sázavou, the Secondary School of Business and Services SČMSD, Žďár nad Sázavou, s.r.o., the Management Academy in Jihlava and the Vocational School, Business Academy and SOUT Chotěboř.
The contestants fought for valuable prizes, including Samsung Galaxy tablets. The exclusive sponsor of the tenth year of the competition was the company Gordic spol. s r.o. The prizes for the competition were also donated by the Polytechnic University of Jihlava.
Competition "Accounting versus Accounting" for secondary schools
The Department of Economic Studies of the Polytechnic University of Jihlava traditionally organizes the 11th. 11th annual accounting competition "Accounting vs. Zdeněk Horák, Ph.D.

No entry fee required. This event is free of charge for secondary schools.
The competition is organized as a team of three members who will participate in solving a professional test focused on accounting issues within the scope of the high school curriculum. A maximum of two teams representing one high school may apply for the competition. However, more teams may also apply for a given high school, which will be registered as alternates and will be included in the competition in case of free capacity. Alternate teams will be selected according to the order in which they applied. Participants will be informed of this in due course.
The competitors will be taking the test using the LMS Moodle of the VŠPJ. In connection with this, we request that each team provide and bring at least one laptop.
It is gratifying to see that each year a large number of the competitors are students of the VŠPJ, such as up to a third of the 2019 competitors. Similar results have been seen in subsequent years. Thus, the competition has become one of the motivational tools in applicants' decision to choose our university.
