Blended Intensive Programme

Blended  Intensive Programme (BIP)

Elective subject in AJ

A unique opportunity to gain experience abroad

What is BIP?

The Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) a programme which includes an online component, so it is a combination of online and face-to-face teaching.

When finished, students will receive 3 credits and a certificate.

What can students expect at BIP?

A maximum of 5 students per participating university will take part in each BIP, from the Finance and Management, Tourism and Applied Informatics disciplines. The students are divided into teams by the hosting partner university (each team is composed of students of different nationalities). Together, they solve a real case study, the results of which they defend and present at the end. The week also includes a visit to a local company or institution, a cultural programme and a dinner together. The communication language is English. The team from each university is usually accompanied by an academic staff member who is involved in coaching and evaluating the student teams.

BIP Funding

Students will receive an Erasmus grant based on an application submitted on their behalf by the International Department. The financial support (grant) is 70 EUR per day of full-time teaching, this support is not available on days of online teaching. The Erasmus grant is primarily intended to cover the fee set by the BIP organisers (usually EUR 290-350). The fee covers accommodation, breakfast and lunch. The remainder of the grant can be used by the student for transport and other costs (dinners). VŠPJ always pays the fee in advance, so students only receive the difference between the grant and the fee.

Who is the BIP program for?

A student who is curious, likes to travel and get to know new people and countries, or who wants to spend a longer period of time abroad in the future, e.g. in the framework of stays organised by the VŠPJ with the support of the European exchange programme Erasmus+, should go on the BIP.

Where does BIP take place?

The usual destinations are Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Latvia, Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal and Poland.

When does BIP take place?

BIP is organised by the individual partner universities. Usually in November/December and March/April. The exact dates are announced by the BIP coordinator, Ing. Martina Chalupová, Ph.D., always at the beginning of the academic year in e-learning and through messages in the information system of the VŠPJ.
