KES Holiday Schools

The Department of Economic Studies of the VŠPJ continuously prepares holiday schools for students of the VŠPJ. If you are interested in them, please contact the head of the department Ing. Martina Kuncova, Ph.D. (kuncova@vspj.cz).

The framework rules for organizing a holiday school at the VŠPJ are as follows:

• An applicant for the holiday school may still enrol in the holiday school during the regular examination period and, if necessary, apply for an extension of the examination period. After binding enrolment in the vacation school and evaluation of other documents, the Vice-Chancellor for Studies may grant this request.
• The minimum number of students in a group is 10, the Vice-Rector for Studies may, in justified cases, allow the opening of a group with less than 10 students.
• The conditions for enrolling students in the holiday school, the content and scope (number of hours) and the conditions for successful completion of the holiday school are determined by the sponsor of the subject in cooperation with the head of the department.
• Lecturally, the holiday school is provided by the head of the relevant department in cooperation with the sponsor of the subject.
• To obtain the possibility to qualify for the next term of credit or for a remedial examination, the student must meet the predefined conditions in the framework of participation in the holiday school (active approach, performance of all assigned tasks, attendance, ...), the fulfillment of the conditions and the recognition of the holiday school is decided by the subject guarantor.

The Department of Economic Studies organizes the following holiday schools and courses for students who need to better master the basics of compulsory subjects: 

Summer term offerings:

• English - Support Course

English Support Course for Finance and Management Students

This course is aimed at English grammar revision and conversation, is designed for finance and management students and will run in September 2022. Time commitment: a total of 10 teaching hours. This is an intensive course which should help students to successfully complete the compulsory English language course at all levels.

The course will be taught in blocks on the following dates:

• Monday, 5 September 2022 (9:00-12:30)
• Tuesday 6 September 2022 (9:00-12:30)
• Thursday, September 8, 2022 (9:00-12:30)

The course is primarily open to students in Finance and Management - 1FD - u2 and u4, but also to those who need to practice their English language skills or have failed credit tests. If the student completes the entire seminar, he/she will be allowed one (third) attempt at the credit test.

The course will only run  after the minimum number of candidates (10) has been met. The maximum number is determined by the capacity of the classroom (24).
