Teaching of the Department of Economic Studies

The Department of Economic Studies (KES) provides teaching of economic professional subjects mainly for students of the study programme Finance and Management, partly for students of the study programme Tourism.

The remaining non-economic fields of study and programmes offer courses introducing the basics of economics, taxation or accounting.

Finance and Management programme curriculum and its structure

The three-year bachelor's degree programme in Finance and Management includes compulsory, optional and elective courses with a total required load equivalent to 180 credits (an average of 60 credits per year and 30 per semester). Optional courses

Optional courses are grouped into two blocks. Each student must complete at least 1 course from each block. Each student must obtain 12 credits from all optional courses (Block 1, Block 2).

Foreign language education

In the Finance and Management programme, students are required to study 1 foreign language - they choose between English and German.

Another obligation is to study 1 subject in a foreign language - either an alternative to the compulsory subject or an elective subject.

In addition to these courses, elective course Intensive Blended Programme is also offered, allowing students to spend a week abroad in conjunction with teamwork with students from foreign universities on a given topic.
